This journal is my main character development journal, or CDJ. Originally I had a journal over at GJ, under the same name, but since GJ is no longer actively used by the RP Journal based community, because it has turned into a ghost town and is incredibly horrible for Role-playing, with no icons at ALL. I’ve been tossing around the idea of creating a LJ CDJ, because on occasion I play over there, but, not nearly enough at the moment to make yet another journal. Soooo… for the moment this is where you can find all my RP related information, until otherwise noted.

This journal is mostly FRIENDS-ONLY. So please comment here to be added. In order for me to add you I request that you please fill out the following form and place it into your comment. The only things that won’t really be f-lock are game ads, my guidelines, and character / thread lists. I am however, rather easy to convince in adding people, especially if we play together or shall-be playing together. My names Amy by the way… though I have many nicknames; feel free to call me anything you want, although you know it should a kind sort of name, unless I know you and that’s just how we are. Otherwise I’ll get moody and remove you, and we don’t want that.

The town of Shelby, California has been around since the mid-18oo’s, back when Gold Rush fever was spreading like wildfire throughout the country. It’s relative closeness to the San Bernardino mountains made it a choice locale for miners and those seeking to start a new life. Twice it spat in the face of Fate. Twice it rose from complete destruction to become something great, something that would be a part of American history forever. Present day, 2009. The years have not been kind to Shelby. Though it is a popular tourist attraction, the town has rebelled against every attempt to restore it to its former glory. How can a town rebel, you ask? It’s a controversial question, to be sure. Psychics have reported that hundreds of restless spirits walk the streets and linger in the old buildings. Mr. Victor Shelby, a direct descendant of the town’s very first major and current owner of the place, has spent the last few years trying to track down the descendants of Shelby’s former inhabitants. The ones who responded and didn’t think him to be a crazy loon accepted the invitation (and the generous sum of money offered) to come to Shelby and attempt to communicate with the spirits. The project even garnered the attention of a popular ghost hunting television series, who expressed interest in wanting to film a documentary. For two and a half weeks the research team and the descendants would investigate the hauntings. From the creators who brought you Old West RP, we invite you to once again venture into this fictional town. The first leg of the storyline will run from February 1st to April 1st. After that, all game-wide plots will be decided upon by the players. For the beginning of the game, there will be a close-off deadline for accepting applications. We will be accepting applications up until February 21st, which will last up until April 1st, when the second leg of our storyline is decided upon. After that there shouldn’t be any need for a deadline. Whether you come as a descendant, a researcher, or even a ghost, we hope you will enjoy your adventure. This is your Haunted Legacy. Shelby, California, nestled at the foot of the San Bernadino Range, was once a widely populous town. Countless people migrated to the place in 1850 as a result of the Gold Rush fever spreading throughout the state. By 1855, Shelby was a ghost town. Houses and buildings alike had been abandoned, ransacked, and some even burned to the ground. Its residents had fled, fearing the wrath of the vindictive Dooger Brothers’ Gang. For nine years the once rich locale remained deserted, until a group of people came and claimed the land for their own in September of 1864. They rebuilt, restocked, created new lives for themselves. Faith was restored in these people, this land. But one thing the new residents never counted on was the return of the hostiles. The bandits. Two rival groups of outlaws, both claiming the town was rightfully theirs to steal from. Both groups periodically threatened New Shelby’s growing economy. Both groups fought and killed each other mercilessly. The year is 1867. The date, May 1. The place is the fictional former ghost town of New Shelby, California. A friend of my friend’s Mother is missing... Please read and share info for others to read & share! To help find her!! It's scary when people you care about go missing.

I really thought she would be found by now. But Since Thurs. Feb. 21, 2008 my mother, Dyane (Dee) Blackford has been missing from her retirement home in Glendale, CA. The reason I'm making an open post for her like this is obvious that I am very concerned and worried about her welfare after 4 days of no leads. The police have been notified since the day of disappearance and we have called every hospital including psyche wards and ERs, etc. in the immediate area of Glendale and LA county. Still nothing. What makes us anxious is this; since 2003 my mother's mental health has steadily declined due to a stroke or perhaps a brain hemorrhage we believe she had suffered, but was never properly treated for it in time. As a result, she has dementia brought on by aphasia. The aphasia is caused by atrophy of the brain which was diagnosed from a MRI scan back in 2003. What this means is, she cannot speak or read clearly without assistance anymore. Some days have been better than others for her, but sadly most of the time she cannot speak a full two words and her sentences become gibberish. However, by sight, she still recognizes family and friends, even some places~ but she just wouldn't know how to explain how to get there. She knows how to say hi, bye, yes, no, and if she's hungry she'll rub her stomach. She is in general very friendly. At a glance, she looks very healthy and normal and still walks briskly for her age.
The days here have been colder and rainier than usual and I doubt she was dressed warmly. After going through her wardrobe, I didn't find her coats missing. I can only hope she has found a hot meal and shelter by a good Samaritan at this point. However, there is of course a multitude of scenarios that can occur within 4 days, so I urge anyone out there in our area, in CA, or perhaps even as far as Az, Utah, WA, Canada, Mexico, heck across the entire Nation, to please let us or your local authorities know if you've seen or heard anything that might relate to my mom. I am her only child, I have no other siblings to ask for help with this. Which is why I'll be turning to as many media outlets as possible in hope for a safe, quick return of my mother.

I can't thank all of you enough for taking the time to read this. I hope we can find her ASAP! Positive thinking everyone!
